$500 scholarships are available to students who are interested in pursuing a career in
instrumental music, and who fit the following criteria:
⇒ Each recipient must be a senior at Armijo, Fairfield, Rodriguez, or Vanden
High School who wishes to pursue a career of teaching or playing instrumental
music.
⇒ Scholarship funds are to be used for financial assistance.
⇒ This scholarship is open to men and women, regardless of race, creed, or
national origin, in accordance with equal opportunity laws.
⇒ Eligible candidates will be both musically and academically talented.
⇒ Each scholarship recipient will be enrolled at a four-year university, with
preference given to institutions in California.An application form is available from any music teacher or at www.solanowinds.org.
Completed applications, and accompanying teacher recommendations must be received by
May 22, 2009 for college matriculation in the fall 2009.
Scholarship application timeline:
May 22, 2009: All application materials must be received by this date.
May 25, 2009: Finalists will be notified by this date.
May 26, 2009: Interviews for Finalists - 5:00 to 7:00 PM, Armijo High School
June 1, 2009: Scholarship recipient(s) notified by this date.
June 6, 2009: Scholarship Award presentation during Solano Winds Concert
7:00 PM, Fairfield Center for Creative Arts
